Information & Prices

The Carrying Works aims to help people discover the wonderful world of slings & support them with carrying from pregnancy to newborn, baby to toddler & beyond. We aim to make these services affordable & our drop-in sessions for hires or brief advice are free. However, there are costs involved with running the library such as insurance & training as well as the more obvious ones such as purchasing, maintaining & replacing slings.

Perhaps open group sessions aren’t really your thing & you’d like a session for just you & your friends? Perhaps you would like more in-depth advice than is available in a busy library session? Perhaps you’re unable to find a drop-in session at a time or location to suit you? Or maybe you would prefer to be in the comfort of your own home? A consultation or workshop could be just the session for you. Below are details of the services we currently offer in addition to our library drop-ins.

Electronic, printable gift vouchers can be purchased for a specific amount or for a workshop or consultation. Simply get in touch via the contact us page, email or Facebook Page for more information.

Full Consultation: Up to 2 hours

This session is a great option if you are looking for detailed, one-to-one help & support. Perhaps you would like a full introduction to slings or perhaps a more focused session on a particular carrier type & how to get the most from it. Maybe you’d like to learn a new skill such as back carrying with your woven wrap. Before the session we will discuss your needs & expectations for the session in order to tailor the session to suit.

£35 at TCW (Home visits are available by request & at an additional charge)

If you & a friend with the same needs would like to have a joint session, this is certainly possible. As with the standard full consultation, we will discuss your needs & expectations for the session beforehand in order to tailor the session to suit & to ensure you both leave having got the most from the session. To reflect the more complex nature of these sessions & the fact they often take a little longer, these sessions are priced slightly differently.

£20 per person at TCW (Home visits are available by request & at an additional charge)

Short Consultation: Up to 1 hour

This session is suited to those who are looking for support such as troubleshooting a carry with a woven wrap, learning a new carry or perhaps learning to back carry with your buckled carrier. As with the full consultation, we will discuss your needs & expectations for the session beforehand in order to tailor the session to suit.

£20 at TCW (Home visits are available by request & at an additional charge)

Recommend & Fit / Technique Check: Up to 30mins

Can’t make it to a library session? Would you prefer a quieter environment? Maybe you’d simply like a short 1-2-1 session to check your technique for some reassurance. Or maybe you’d just like to try out a carrier or two before deciding what to hire. This could be the session for you.

£10 at TCW

Workshop: Up to 2 hours

These small group sessions have a specific focus such as an introduction to woven wraps or back carrying with buckles, the list of potential topics is endless! If you would like to take part in a group workshop, please get in touch to find out what sessions we are currently booking or to add your name to a waiting list for a particular topic.

Hi, my son is 3weeks old and I’m very interested in trying and buying a carry sling. I did have one for my daughter but found it uncomfortable for her when she was newborn. I’d love to book onto one of your workshops. I do live in worksop so I’m local to you.
I look forward to hearing from you.

      Hi Emma

If the best way to keep up to date with the meets & the sessions is via the Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/thecarryingworks 🙂 I’m just adding another drop-in session where people are able to pop in, try slings on & get some brief advice. I’m also looking at doing another introduction workshop if you’d be interested in booking onto it. Again, the best way to do that is via the Facebook page & the messaging service as I can send all the details via private message 🙂

I look forward to seeing you at a session soon & seeing what carrier we can get you started with!

      Amy 🙂
